Once a week, I make up for centuries of oppression by linking to postbourgie. You may think that I’m too radical for effecting change in this way. But I say that a dream deferred is a dream denied. I just made that up. Not bad, right? Anyway, in honor of African-American History Month, please take a look at postbourgie’s “Know Your History” posts: here, here, here, here, here, and here.

I can’t decide which of those posts is my favorite, but I totally love the way that they weave actual events into urban legends. So, so fabulous.
“A dream deferred is a dream denied” bugs my conscience every time I hear someone say either that it’s not Obama’s time yet, or that Clinton isn’t the right woman yet. Urgh.

Franklin is the best. By far. But they’re all hilarious.

I’m inclined to love the Franklin post, yes. But come on. The genius of the Ice Cube post–which I didn’t even get until I read the comments–and the Sharpton post?
It’s kind of like the election. Picking a favorite is really difficult.

I’m going with Ice Cube or Sharpton. Probably Cube. I mean, Black Powerade? That’s comedy gold.

And also: welcome. Come over whenever you’d like. We’ll have spare keys made up for you. Is it too soon? I don’t want to seem overeager. But, you know… Crap.
