You may remember this post. Well, it seems that Mayor Cory Booker is still luxuriating in this nation’s racial deliciousness. By the way, for those of you who watch Colbert regularly, does he break character more and more often these days? And is this a byproduct of the changing political landscape?

I think it’s that, and the fact that he’s spent this entire week extensively promoting his Christmas Special. He’s been on just about every NY-based talk show!

Only Rhodes Scholars can mix so many metaphors. Don’t try this at home!

I think I might be considering shifting my crush on Obama over to Cory Booker. Sorry, Barack.
(Re. Colbert breaking character, I agree. I think it’s because he *likes* his guests these days. I’m going to guess that he finds it easier to stay in character when he finds the person he’s interviewing kind of an ass.)

After Colbert’s disastrous attempt to run for president, he was a broken man. But now he’s healed, and doesn’t take himself quite as seriously anymore. But, people, please: make sure he doesn’t hear that rumor about he’s on the short list for the job of White House spokesman in the Palin administration. His proctologist told me Colbert might not even make it to 2012 if he goes back to his old ways.

Booker is endearingly dorky in defense of his metaphors. Still I have to agree with “Colbert” that the food metaphor is risky — the darker the berry, etc.

Colbert has been breaking character constantly ever since like two months after the premiere.

I believe Booker was trying to bait Colbert into reprising of the show’s last episode of luxuriating in the deliciousness of differences. Colbert doesn’t take the bait, though — he knows very well from that disaster what the wages of such a sin can be.
