What, you’re going to argue with Samuel L. Jackson? Just vote no on Prop 8. Or, if you don’t live here but know somebody who does and who might vote yes, offer to buy their vote in exchange for peanut butter cookies. Umm, cookies.

Samuel L. says this to those who vote yes on Prop 8:
“The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.”

A royale with cheese for everyone voting yes on 8….
After all, why should straights be the only ones to deal with alimony, child support, pre-nups and post-nups, and all the other “joys” of marriage?

You’ll be happy, I think, to hear that *all* the older trick or treaters that came to our house “loved” our “no on 8” sign. None of them are old enough to vote yet, of course, but it was heartwarming anyway.

I’m glad to see more well-known folks come out against Prop 8 in the closing days before the election, at a point when many undecideds are more apt to make up their minds.

We have had two No on 8 signs stolen from our front yard (I live in the “midwest of CA”). Yesterday we painted a 6 foot door with “No on 8, please don’t steal our sign! Free speech is American!” This morning the door/sign was in the street, cracked in half, with tire marks across it. We propped it back up. A few hours later, sometime between noon and 1 ( in the daylight! ) we came home to find the door/sign smashed into dozens of pieces, along with a pumpkin destroyed against our mailbox. We are both angry and sad.

Are Armenians up for grabs on this issue, or was that just aimed at the Central Valley vote? That bit puzzled me a little.
We got this in the mail the other day, presumably because there’s a large African American population in part of our zip code. Vile.

We didn’t lose any of our signs. However, our neighbors across the street lost their “Yes on 8” sign.
And it’s not like we live in a blue county, really.

Lori, maybe some of your neighbors have noticed the assholishness and it’s making them question their planned yes on 8 votes. You never know.

Ah, it’s been a long while since I have thought about Snakes on a Plane. Thank you for reminding me of that happy memory. (No sarcasm intended.)

Lori,
I have noticed for at least 40 years, that there is a prominent group of Americans who preach freedom of speech as long as you say what they want to hear.
