I like how he keeps calling Senator McCain, “John”. That’s a nice touch.

Love to see Biden passionate! And as a bonus we get a great delivery of Truman’s famous line!

If it comes out that both of Biden’s grandfathers died before he was born, I will… not be surprised.

holy shit. if he does nothing more for the obama campaign, this speech alone earns his place on the ticket.
a fighting democrat. that’s all we’ve fucking well wanted for years and years. just a democrat who will get up there and give as good as they’ve gotten, and better.
obama does it in his own way, and it’s a thing of beauty. but this is a thing of beauty too.

And he calls Palin “The Governor” — to indicate he’d never heard of her before Friday, but he’s being respectful in using her title — which is an equally nice touch. The two together achieve synergy.

Yeah, it was better than normal for a Democrat but he needs a better writer. The language was too unfocused — where or why did “on firemen” find its way in there? He should have directly linked the Republicans with the failure of the last 8 years. He could have said “the GOP is the party of failure” and he did in a way, but not clearly or simply enough. The Governer has a good left jab and Obama is bad — no. no. no do not speak in this way. . .

Yup, that’s the one.

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win. You being not Obama.

We’re going to! Will you pop the popcorn?
First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.
I haven’t found this to be the case.

But it certainly fits with McCain’s “Deluge of Clichés and Pablum” public-speaking strategy.
