Thanks, Urbino. My 7 y.o. and 3 y.o. loved it (as did I), and I can see great possibilities for using this in my European intellectual history class.

Thank you for this. I can think of few sillier ways to spend a bit of a snow-day than watching this–not to mention linking to it at my place.

Oh, stop. It’s been around for donkey’s years. A much-hipper-than-me friend told me about it around this time last year.
I just wish they’d do some new ones.

Which only goes to show how unhip certain people hereabouts might be….

Well, you are historians, and there is such a thing as opportunity cost.

Who is Urbino? Please tell me you guys aren’t exploiting/enabling one of your grad students here.

Me? I just wandered in off the street. Do I seem like an exploited/enabled grad student? I’m not sure I like what that says about me, mostly because I’m not sure what that says about me.

And I’m insulsted that you think that I exploit my graduate students in this way. I exploit them, mind you, just not like this. I mean, come on. There are cars to be washed, fences to be painted, and pools to be cleaned. Sheesh, give me a little credit.

Also: I just watched “Home with the Kids” again. Still very funny.

Suddenly, I’m having visions of Professor Kelman’s “wax on, wax off” method of teaching the historian’s craft.
“Student-san, history, you do, yes, aye. History, you do, no, aye. History, you do, maybe — squick.”

I’m only hanging out here because Ari pays me. I figured all the commenters had been coerced one way or another.

I’m disappointed this site hasn’t been updated in years. I hope they’ll find the time to create more.

They say in the FAQ area that they may do more. But they make no promises and note that they live far away from each other at this point. Alas. That said, if you haven’t looked at the imposters section, it’s worth seeing: pictures of people dressed up Strindberg & Helium. Sweet and funny.
