As I said before, it’s worth the wait till Joe Jackson comes in.
Because, even if we all have a little Elvis in us, I think Shatner has more than most.

I just realized this is a shortened version. The whole thing is even better.
Also genius.

I don’t know why you say things like “it’s worth the wait until Joe Jackson comes in”, as if Shatner’s intro is somehow not good in itself.
Come on! Joe Jackson represents a dropping off here.

You’re right, I should have the courage of my convictions. The whole thing is brilliant. But I disagree that Jackson represents a dropping off. I’ve missed his voice, and it’s nice to hear him in good form on a great pop number.

Huh, haven’t you linked to that before? Does it really warrant its own thread? I mean seriously .

Yes, it warrants its own thread. Many, many readers don’t look at the comments at all. And this piece of the highest high art was only in the comments.

Yeah, we might have to put Shatner on the “about” page along with the Muppets.

Well, I mainly wanted to link to McEnroe.

McEnroe deserves his own front-page post.

McEnroe. Somewhere I saw Sampras doing the same bit, an homage if you will….

I don’t think that we have to say that Shatner’s intro is inferior in order to acknowledge that Joe Jackson’s entry is just the touch of genius that brings us to transcendence.

Sorry about my accent. Some time check out “Hindi People” from the amazing “Goodness Gracious Me,” which does a nice version of the Joe Jackson bit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LL3H8nzs7T4

Almost as stupid as the things we do because we think that wealth is cool.
Shatner? Inferior? Wow. Hey, this isn’t his greatest moment, to be sure, but what tops him letting Jon Stewart sit in his lap? (bonus points if you can find the video, all I can find is the MTV bio copied to a million websites that mention he did it http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz=1C1GGLS_en-USUS299US303&q=jon+stewart+shatner's+lap&btnG=Search )
